England midfielder Ross Barkley is apparently on Manchester United’s radar once again after returning to form for Everton.
Boss Roberto Martinez knows he will have to fight to keep his three big stars at the club this summer, Barkley, John Stones and Romelu Lukaku, but with new investment at the club he will be confident he can build the squad rather than weaken it.
The Reds Devils have refocused their attention on the Goodison Park starlet who was on their radar when his former Toffees boss David Moyes was in the Old Trafford hot-seat.
It’s understood the trail then went cold as Barkley struggled with both his injuries and form, although United have always considered him a top prospect, having viewed his talents up close throughout the junior ranks.
United host Everton this coming Sunday and it’s understood they might use the opportunity to discover the lay of the land on the 22-year-old.
Barkley has bagged 14 goals this campaign and United’s reappraisal is down to his improved consistency, and a feeling he has accepted more responsibility within in his game.
