Everton boss Roberto Martinez says his side have shown signs of improvement over the last month after Tuesday’s victory at Aston Villa.
The Toffees climbed up to 10th in the Premier League as they saw off rock bottom Aston Villa with a 3-1 win at Villa Park.
Ramiro Funes Mori, Aaron Lennon and Romelu Lukaku all netted before Rudy Gestede scored a consolation in reply.
The routine victory means Everton have now won five of their last six outings in all competitions and Martinez admitted that it was great to continue their run on Tuesday against a team fighting for their lives.
Martinez said: “It’s one of those displays that from the outside they’re not going to be given the credit it deserves.
“Villa are fighting for their lives so we’re delighted to get that win and that performance.
“I feel that the squad is in a good moment – there’s competition for places, we’ve been consistent in the last six games. We’re enjoying our football and have plenty confidence.”
