Everton defender Ramiro Funes Mori issues public apology to Liverpool striker Divock Origi – fan reaction
Ramiro Funes Mori has spoken out after his horror challenge saw Divock Origi stretchered off in the mid-week Merseyside derby.
Liverpool cruised to a comfortable 4-0 victory over an Everton side void of ideas, but the injury to the Belgium striker lifted a dark cloud over the final result.
Jurgen Klopp is awaiting results from further tests to Origi’s ankle, with it looking as though he has suffered ligament damage, not a break.
While the German manager awaits confirmation, the player responsible, Mori, has issued an apology.
The defender, on Twitter, wrote, ‘I very much regret what happened yesterday. It was never my intention to harm a rival nor my colleagues leaving the field.’
So, how have Liverpool supporters reacted to his apology? What about Everton supporters who feel he may have let them down?
