Outgoing Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini has been linked with taking over as Everton boss this summer.

Reports say the Chilean is keen to stay in the Premier League when his time at City comes to an end and he is seriously interested in the job at Goodison Park, should the Blues decide to get rid of under-pressure chief Roberto Martinez.

Pellegrini would not have to relocate from the north west should Everton come calling and the former Malaga and Villarreal boss is a contender for the role if it becomes available.

Current Newcastle boss Rafael Benitez has also been linked in recent weeks, although it would be a surprise if Everton turned to the former Liverpool manager if he leaves St James’ Park, while Stoke boss Mark Hughes, Ajax manager Frank De Boer, Southampton’s Ronald Koeman and old Blues boss David Moyes are all also in the frame should the club decide to sack Martinez after a disappointing campaign.
