Everton are understood to have held talks with Manuel Pellegrini as they seek Roberto Martinez’s successor.
The Goodison Park outfit are on the hunt for a new boss following Martinez’s sacking and it has been claimed talks have already been held with Pellegrini, who is seeking a new club after leaving Manchester City at the end of the campaign.
However, the Chilean is not the only name in the frame as a number of candidates have been suggested.
Everton hope to meet with other possible replacements for Martinez in the coming days, including Southampton boss Ronald Koeman – despite previous reports the Dutchman intends to see out the final year of his deal at St Mary’s.
Frank De Boer, who is a free agent after leaving Ajax at the end of the season, and Sevilla manager Unai Emery are also believed to be set for discussions with Everton as the Merseyside outfit step up their managerial search.
