EU IN CRISIS: Bloc will become IRRELEVANT if trade deal with Canada fails, MEP says

Latvian MEP Artis Pabriks called the Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA) “highly important” for the future of the bloc.

He said the possibility of it falling through would be disastrous, saying: “Trade matters if you want to stay relevant in the global world.”

CETA, which is designed to make exports between Canada and the EU easier and cheaper, has come under intense scrutiny this year.
