Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino is considering an offer for Espanyol keeper Pau Lopez as he looks for more cover for Hugo Lloris.
The 21-year-old is well known to the Spurs manager from his time in charge of the Barcelona-based side and he’s one of the most highly-rated young keepers in Spain, earning a call-up to the national squad for a friendly in May.
Pochettino is content with established first-choice Lloris but may be keen to find a replacement for Michel Vorm, who is 32 and has been linked with a move away from the club this summer.
Lopez has made 38 La Liga appearances for Espanyol and they do not want to sell him but would reportedly listen to offers of around £5million.
Spurs are unlikely to be willing to offer that much and had hoped to sort out a deal for around £3million for Lopez, who has two years to run on his current Espanyol contract.
