Christian Eriksen has reportedly turned down Tottenham’s latest contract offer but he is eventually expected to agree a new deal.
The Denmark international still has two years left on his current terms but the club want to tie him down beyond that and have been in negotiations with his representatives this summer.
However, the latest contract offer has apparently been rejected with the 24-year-old hoping for a salary in line with Spurs’ other top stars and one that reflects his value to Mauricio Pochettino’s side.
Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy has made sorting out new terms for Eriksen a priority this summer and the former Ajax man, who has scored 23 Premier League goals in 94 appearances for the club since arriving in 2013, is likely to eventually pen a new deal before the new campaign gets underway.
Levy is also in talks with Erik Lamela and Jan Vertonghen over new deals as the club attempt to sort out the long-term futures of their key first-team players.
