Meanwhile, Howe has been applauded by Southampton boss Ronald Koeman for sticking to his attacking beliefs.
The Bournemouth manager refused to change his style when his side were struggling in the early weeks of the season and they are now five points clear of the relegation places.
Koeman said: “I’m always looking at a manager’s philosophy, and Howe has created a way to play attractive football with good, technical players.
“That’s what I like. It’s brave and it’s also the most difficult way.
“He likes to play the same way I like to do. In football, we both play from the back with technical players with different system.
“That’s nice to see because Bournemouth didn’t have that much money to spend and they have done a great job to get to the Premier League.
“I hope they stay up. It will be nice to continue with derbies against them.
“They are still in with the possibility of staying in the Premier League and that would be great.”
