Fanendo Adi’s representatives have revealed Crystal Palace have been in contact regarding a summer switch for the Portland striker.
The Nigeria international has been a big hit in the MLS since moving from Copenhagen to the Timbers in 2014, netting a club-record 33 goals in 69 regular season games.
Adi fired Portland to their first MLS Cup last season and his form has now seen him linked with a move elsewhere, as Palace get set to battle it out with French side St Etienne and Chinese outfit Shanghai Shenhua for his signature.
AdiÂ’s representatives, Onfield Management, have now confirmed Palace have expressed an interest although there are fears a move to England could be an issue due to problems with the 25-year-old’s work permit.
“There is nothing concrete. Agents called us regarding Crystal Palace but no bid has been made for sure,” Onfield Management told allnigeriasoccer.com.
“Crystal Palace showed interest but we are not sure he can play in England because of difficulties getting a work permit.”
