The Eagles are looking to end a run of 13 games without a win in the league when they travel to face West Ham on Saturday.

However, they remain without a number of key players with the likes of Yohan Cabaye, Mile Jedinak, Emmanuel Adebayor and James McArthur all unavailable.

SaturdayÂ’s outing will also come too soon for Wickham, who has been nursing a knock since March 1 when he bagged twice in the 2-2 draw with Sunderland.

Pardew is hopeful that Wickham will be able to play next week but has revealed McArthur is still some way off returning to action.

He said: “Connor Wickham did a warm up today.

“We’re hoping he gets some football next week.

“That would be great news for us because we are nursing one or two after the international break.

“McArthur is progressing but is still some away off.”
