Leandro Bacuna has confirmed that he would happily return to the Netherlands to join Ajax or PSV Eindhoven if he leaves Aston Villa.
The 24-year-old Dutch-born Curacao international defender has made 92 appearances for Villa since joining the club from Groningen in 2013.
And while Bacuna is refusing to push for a move away from Villa Park ahead of their imminent relegation from the Premier League at the end of this season, he has made no secret of his desire to make a move back to the Eredivisie with a club that could offer him European football.
“Within the next two years, I try to make my next step,” Bacuna told Dutch broadcaster NOS.
“What it’s going to be, I do not know at this time. But I want to grow in two years. It does not necessarily have to be in England.”
On a possible move to the Netherlands, he added: “That would just be Ajax or PSV, I think. They play Champions League football almost every year.
“If I have a chance to go there then why not?”
