Everton boss Roberto Martinez will rival Stoke in the summer in the battle to lure Leeds youngster Lewis Cook away from Elland Road.
Cook is one of the brightest talents in the Championship and has been regularly linked with a move to the Premier League in the past 12 months.
The 19-year-old, who played for the England’s Under-19 as they beat Georgia 2-1 on Thursday, has emerged as a top target for both Everton and Stoke.
Cook is under contract at Elland Road until 2017 but has shown no signs of penning new terms so clubs could take advantage of that fact and attempt to land him for around £5million when the transfer window reopens, although Leeds have made it clear they would want twice that amount.
The Toffees nearly signed Sam Byram from Leeds in the January transfer window before the full-back opted to switch to West Ham.
