Arsenal could be boosted by the return of Alex Iwobi and Olivier Giroud when they take on Southampton this weekend.
Iwobi has been on the sidelines since picking up a thigh injury on the opening day of the season against Liverpool, and has missed the last two games against Leicester City and Watford.
However the youngster has returned to training during the international break and could be ready to hand boss Arsene Wenger a boost ahead of the Saints game.
Meanwhile, Giroud, who has been left out of the Gunners side due to a lack of match fitness, says he is now ready to return after two appearances for France in the last week.
“It is down to a lack of training since I got back from holiday,” Giroud told the London Evening Standard.
“It if had been a priority, the manager would have asked me to come back sooner. That wasn’t the case. Don’t worry, everything is fine. I’m used to people doubting me. Since the start of my career, it has been the same.
“Maybe I need that so I don’t get too comfortable but between last season and the Euros, I’ve got no reason to doubt myself.”
