Dundee forward Greg Stewart has turned down the opportunity to join Birmingham City after a fee in the region of £500,000 plus add-ons was agreed.
Stewart – in the final year of his Dundee contract – has scored 32 goals since joining from Cowdenbeath in 2014.
He missed Saturday’s win over Ross County because of injury.
However, Stewart, 26, is expected to be back in contention for Saturday’s game against Rangers at Dens Park (12:15 BST kick-off).
Last month, Dundee manager Paul Hartley said: “I don’t think we can replace Greg Stewart. Hopefully we can keep him for another year, but you never know.”
Birmingham opened their Championship campaign with a goalless draw against Cardiff City on Saturday and were knocked out of the EFL Cup by Oxford United in Tuesday’s first-round tie.
