Aston Villa are said to be one of several clubs weighing up whether to activate Dundee striker Kane Hemmings’s buy-out clause.
The 24-year-old has enjoyed an excellent season with The Dees in the Scottish Premiership, netting 25 goals and earning himself a nomination for Scotland’s PFA player of the year award.
Villa are desperate to add goals to their side ahead of next season’s Championship campaign, with Rudy Gestede topping the club’s goalscoring charts this term with five.
The Villans are said to be keen on Hemmings due to his £250,000-buyout clause in his contract with Dundee but are not alone in having an interest in the striker as Derby, Bolton, Blackburn and QPR have also been mentioned in connection.
While Hemmings has been prolific north of the border, he has previously struggled plying his trade in England, scoring just three times in 23 appearances during a year-long stint with Barnsley last season.
