Xherdan Shaqiri says he has no knowledge of talk linking him to Borussia Dortmund and insists he is planning to stay with Stoke.
The Switzerland international has been linked with a move to the German giants this week as they look to overhaul their current squad, with Shaqiri thought to be interested in a switch to a Champions League club.
However, the 24-year-old has been quick to pour cold water on speculation suggesting he could return to Germany, stating that he wants to play a part in Stoke’s improvement as they look to secure their best-ever Premier League finish.
Shaqiri, who previously played for Bayern Munich, claims there is no chance of him playing in the Bundesliga again just yet as he still has personal goals he wants to achieve at the bet365 Stadium.
Shaqiri told Blick: “Well, nobody has told me (about interest from Dortmund) so for the moment this is cheese. I am now on holiday.
“A move to the Bundesliga is actually ruled out at the moment. On July 24 I start back at Stoke with training and I’m looking forward to the Premier League. I have goals to achieve for Stoke.
“We want to improve every season. Last season we finished ninth (for the third year in a row). Now we want to beat that.”
