Tottenham midfield ace Eric Dier has warned his England team-mates they cannot afford to feel sorry for themselves against Wales.
Roy Hodgson’s men need a win against Wales to ensure they remain on track in the Euro 2016 finals after the draw with Russia, but Dier says the players did enough in their opener to show they are on top of their games and that there is no need to change.
The Spurs ace says the side must not go into their shells in the match against the Welsh and need to take the game to their opponents.
He told Standard Sport: “I don’t think anyone’s heads should be on the floor after what happened in the Russia game.
“There is no reason to change the way we play against Wales. We can’t let that late goal we conceded affect us.
“There were a couple of negatives that we need to work on for the Wales match, but we have to follow on the same path. We just need a bit more game intelligence and we need to be more ruthless.”
