Napoli and Roma are interested in signing Manchester United full-back Matteo Darmian, according to Sky Italia’s Gianluca Di Marzio.
The future of the Italy international seems unclear at the moment after new United boss Jose Mourinho favoured Antonio Valencia for the right-back slot.
Darmian, 26, signed a four-year contract when he arrived at Old Trafford from Torino for a fee in the region of £12.5million last summer.
He made 24 Premier League starts and scored one goal during his first campaign in English football but lost his first-choice international status at Euro 2016 to AC Milan’s Mattia De Sciglio.
Roma are on the lookout for a right-back and have been linked with Torino’s Brazilian defender Bruno Peres in the Italian press.
Napoli don’t appear to need a new player for that position, however, with highly-rated Albania international Elseid Hysaj virtually an ever-present for them in Serie A last season.
