Dembele accepts violent conduct charge

Spurs received nine yellow cards against Chelsea, the most by one team in a match in Premier League history

Tottenham midfielder Mousa Dembele has accepted a Football Association charge of violent conduct, says head coach Mauricio Pochettino.

Dembele appeared to eye-gouge Chelsea forward Diego Costa during Spurs’ 2-2 draw with Chelsea on Monday.

Referee Mark Clattenburg did not punish the 28-year-old during the game.

The Belgian international had until 18:00 BST on Thursday to respond but he has not contested the charge and could now face a lengthy suspension.
