Chambers joined the Gunners in a £16million deal from Southampton in the summer of 2014 and managed 17 Premier League starts in his debut campaign in north London.

However, the defender struggled for game time last season, with just two league starts and 10 further appearances from the bench, and reports have suggested he could be on the move.

The 21-year-old, who has been capped three times by the senior England side, has admitted he wants to feature more prominently next season.

There has been speculation Watford were planning a loan move for the versatile defender but the Evening Standard report that the Gunners are not planning to send Chambers out at this stage.
