Liverpool centre-half Dejan Lovren says the team are ready for their showdown with arch-rivals Manchester United.
The two sides meet at Anfield on Thursday night in the first leg of their last-16 match in the Europa League, with the return at Old Trafford a week later, and Lovren claims the Reds are up for it.
The Croatian defender believes that Liverpool have found some defensive stability at just the right time – they have conceded just two goals in their last six matches – and after back-to-back league wins Lovren says Jurgen Klopp’s men are looking forward to the game.
“We are in good form so we have a lot of confidence and we just need to keep continuing to play like this and the result will come,” he told Liverpoolfc.com
“It’s an important game because it’s a Europa League match and we want to go to the final. It’s a special game because it’s a derby and it’s always great to beat Manchester United.
“They have individual players who can score whenever they want so we just need to be concentrated.”
