Lyon are reported to be weighing up a move for Arsenal defender Mathieu Debuchy, who looks to be heading for the Emirates exit door.
The Frenchman does not appear to have a future with the Gunners after being sent out on loan to Bordeaux in January by Arsene Wenger and now, according to reports in his home country, Lyon are interested in his services.
The former Newcastle right-back has struggled for form and fitness since joining Arsenal in 2014 and has only made 12 Premier League appearances for Wenger’s side.
Debuchy’s time at Bordeaux has also been affected by injuries, which restricted him to just nine Ligue 1 appearances, but he did enough to attract the attention of other clubs, with Lyon leading the chase.
Debuchy will be available on a free transfer with his Arsenal contract expiring next month and there are sure to be other clubs in the running for his signature as well.
