Former Rangers man Whittaker has opted to extend his stay at Carrow Road, despite the club’s relegation to the Championship this season.

Despite only featuring eight times in the Premier League campaign, it appears the 31-year-old Scotland international still has a role to play with the Canaries.

Norwich boss Alex Neil told the club’s official website: “Steven’s had a bit of a frustrating year, however I think he showed his worth in the Championship last time and it’s going to be a squad game next season.”
