Everton centre-half Phil Jagielka has admitted the club are on a poor run of form but can only drag themselves out of it.
Roberto Martinez’s men slipped to a 1-0 defeat by Manchester United at Old Trafford on Sunday but would have equalised had Jagielka’s powerful header, shortly after Anthony Martial scored, been a few centimetres lower.
Instead, it rattled the crossbar and Everton were unable to claw their way back, resulting in their third successive league defeat.
“You come to a place like Man U, your goalkeeper hasn’t really had too much to do and you end up losing 1-0, it is a little bit frustrating,” captain Jagielka told reporters.
“But we’ve got to try and pick ourselves up now. We’re on a little bit of a disappointing run at the moment and the only thing we can do to correct that is by looking forward to the next game.”
