Cesar Azpilicueta says there has been no contact from Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho and insists he is happy at Chelsea.
Reports are rife that Mourinho is keen to return to Stamford Bridge and swoop for the Spain international, who has been a revelation since joining the Blues, but there has been no contact as yet.
Azpilicueta is currently at Euro 2016 with the rest of the Spain squad, but was quick to deny United had been in touch when quizzed by a local radio station.
When asked if Mourinho had been in touch, he replied: “No. [You can] Believe me or not.”
The defender then revealed he is aware of interest in him with Athletic Bilbao also known to be keen, but reaffirmed his commitment to Chelsea ahead of the new season.
“It’s always a compliment that you are wanted, I’ve heard highly about Valverde [Bilbao’s manager], but I’m focused on the national team and Chelsea, I’ve been there for four years, I am very happy and I feel highly valued,” he added.
Mourinho has also been linked with Chelsea midfielder Nemanja Matic, and he looks sure to attempt some kind of raid on Stamford Bridge over the summer.
