“I’ve been through the rules from an academic perspective and I can see a few things [wrong with them],” Maguire told Daily Star Online.
“If you take a look at Manchester City, they are a multi-club. You’ve got New York, you’ve got Melbourne, you’ve got other clubs dotted around the world.
“What you can do is start to park some of the umbrella costs in some of those clubs and therefore those costs don’t come through directly to City – City will bare a proportion.
“I’m not saying that has happened – but the opportunity certainly exists.
“I’m an opponent of FFP because for me, it’s just an excuse for accounts and lawyers to argue among themselves and it’s got nothing to do with football.
