West Brom have been offered the chance to sign Martin Caceres, who is also a reported target for Chelsea.
The Uruguayan centre-back is a free agent having left Juventus in the summer and a reunion with former boss Antonio Conte at Stamford Bridge has been mooted.
However, sources in Italy have now claimed that it is West Brom who are now deciding whether or not to land the 29-year-old.
Inter and AC Milan are also interested in bringing in Caceres although it has been suggested that he would like to try his hand in England after spells in Spain and Italy.
As he is currently without a club, the former Barcelona man is free to join a club in the Premier League even though the transfer window is shut.
And Calciomercato say it is West Brom who look closest to concluding a deal for the defender.
