Mike Phelan has revealed key defender Michael Dawson should be ready to return to the Hull City side after the international break.
Dawson has been battling back to fitness after picking up a serious knee injury in pre-season, and it looks as though he is finally ready to return to the match-day squad.
The Tigers are next in action when they take on Bournemouth on October 15, and all being well, Dawson should be knocking on the first-team door.
Dawson’s return could not be better timed as Hull face a crucial run of fixtures against sides in the lower half of the table.
“Michael is back in full training during the international break,” Phelan revealed. “He has been outside already on the grass doing individual work so he is building up his rehabilitation to be back in the group next week, albeit a small group with so many away on international duty.
“All being well, he will be in contention for Bournemouth. If everything goes well with his progression then he should be available. It will be very good to have him back.”
