David Moyes reveals which Sunderland player he would never sell

The Scot returns to Old Trafford today knowing the Black Cats’ best hope of pulling off a shock result against the club that sacked him in April 2014 lies in Defoe’s deadly finishing.

And Moyes is only too aware that if Sunderland are to avoid relegation this season, they can’t afford to cash in on their best player.

Defoe’s former club West Ham are willing to pay £6m and match his £80,000-a-week pay packet even though he was 34 last month.

But even for cash-strapped Sunderland, any offer would be very easy to turn down.
