David Moyes faces defensive crisis ahead of Middlesbrough clash

On Kaboul’s departure, he added: “Younes came to see me when he heard about Watford and said he wanted to go back.

“I think his family home is in Watford. It was very difficult to turn it down. He is nearly 31 so that was his choice.

“But I am positive with the boys we have got. We put on a great show last week and we can pick up on that.

“And we will improve but it is important we keep adding or one two players to the group.”

Meanwhile, Moyes revealed his former Everton winger Steven Pienaar has signed a 12 month deal.

“I have added Pienaar to the group because we do need people with a bit of experience and players who will give us that experience when maybe the younger ones can’t.”
