Fletcher, of course, knows all about long spells out on the sidelines – he lost close to three years at United after suffering from the stomach disorder ulcerative colitis.
And a lack of game time last season under Dutch boss Louis van Gaal eventually led to his move to West Brom in January 2015.
But he has no hard feelings over his Old Trafford exit – and has been suitably impressed by United’s recent resurgence as LVG is forced to use the kids.
Four-time Premier League winner Fletcher, 32, added: “It’s fantastic. I’ve been watching them and they’ve done great.
“That’s what the club is all about. I love to see young players getting an opportunity.
“The injuries have almost been a blessing in disguise. I had a fantastic time there but have no regrets about leaving because I need to play and I’m enjoying my time at West Brom.
“On a personal level it has been going well and as a team we want to fi nish the season well and then kick on again next year.”
