Matteo Darmian’s agent has admitted the Manchester United full-back could be forced to move on in January due to a lack of action.
The 26-year-old has made just one appearance this season and is out of favour following Jose Mourinho’s arrival at Old Trafford in the summer.
His agent, Fausto Pari, says he needs to play more and the pair will look at the situation in January.
If his prospects don’t improve, there are several clubs back in his homeland of Italy who are said to be keen, with Napoli leading the chase.
“He’s playing little or nothing and it’s a shame because he’s an Italy international,” Pari told Radio CRC. “If the situation doesn’t change by January, we’ll have to think of something. He risks also losing his place in the national team.
“We’ve got to see what United want to do. Italian clubs have tried [to sign him], but United closed the door immediately.”
Pari added: “We’re only at the start of October so there is still time and we will see how the situation evolves.”
