Chelsea are favourites to sign Manchester United defender Matteo Darmian and could swoop in the January transfer window.
The Italian international will be allowed to leave Old Trafford in the January window and according to reports, Blues boss Antonio Conte wants to link up with his fellow countryman at the Bridge.
Conte has bolstered his defence already when re-signing David Luiz and bringing in Marcos Alonso before the deadline, but he will not stop there and has his eyes on Darmian.
Chelsea will face strong competition for the 26-year-old’s signature though as Barcelona are known to be keen, while Juventus and Napoli could offer him the chance to return to Italy.
Darmian will be staying where he is until the new year, but reports are rife that Chelsea will be holding discussions with United before then with a view to doing a deal as soon as the window opens.
