Does Danny Ings deserve a chance in Liverpool’s first team?
Jurgen Klopp’s Reds are currently flying in the Premier League, sitting fourth in the table after three wins in a row – against Leicester, Chelsea and Hull.
But the former Burnley striker, 24, is making the right noises as he looks to break back into the senior side. A good opportunity could rise in the coming weeks, as Liverpool face Tottenham in the EFL Cup.
Ings has only made two competitive appearances since suffering a nasty anterior cruciate ligament injury last October. The most recent of those came in the recent cup win over Derby, as a second-half substitute.
He scored twice for Liverpool’s U23s and fans have praised him for his attitude, just 36 hours after defender Mamadou Sakho launched a social media rant at German manager Klopp.
Should Ings bide his time at Anfield or seek pastures new?
