Crystal Palace: Loan man up for Palace award

The 27-year-old France international was snapped up on loan from Premier League rivals Liverpool by boss Sam Allardyce in the January transfer window and has made a big impact on the Eagles.

Sakho has helped Palace win five of the eight matches which he has played in, lifting them four points clear of Hull in the final relegation Palace ahead of Sunday’s huge showdown between the two sides at Selhurst Park in the penultimate game of the campaign.

He is set to miss the game having picked up a knee injury in the recent game against Tottenham, which has subsequently sidelined him for successive defeats against Burnley and Manchester City.

Therefore, Sakho’s influence on the side is clear which is why he joins Christian Benteke, Yohan Cabaye, Jason Puncheon, Andros Townsend and Wilfried Zaha in the running to secure the top player award.
