Santos midfielder Lucas Lima rejected a deadline day offer from Crystal Palace, according to reports in Italy.
The attacking midfielder has been one of the bright sparks of Brazilian football in recent years and he has attracted plenty of interest.
Clubs in Italy have tracked the 26-year-old extensively over the past year, while he has been offered the chance to play in France too.
However, according to TMW, Crystal Palace are another side who have tried and failed to lure Lima away from Brazil.
The Premier League club reportedly agreed a fee of £12.5m for the playmaker on transfer deadline day before offering him a four-year deal worth £8.4m.
But Lima is said to have rejected the proposal as he does not want to leave Brazil at the moment.
Crystal Palace were desperate to bring in a central midfielder on deadline day and, after failed approaches for Jack Wilshere and Lima, the club are now reportedly ready to turn to free agent Mathieu Flamini.
