Crystal Palace: De Boer ready for Selhurst Park bow

The Dutchman succeeded Sam Allardyce as Eagles manager in June and he has so far taken charge of four pre-season matches, although none of those contests have taken place at Selhurst Park.

That will change on Saturday when Palace play host to Bundesliga outfit Schalke in their final match of pre-season and De Boer is hoping for a bumper attendance to see in his first game in south London.

“It will be the first time that I manage a Crystal Palace side at Selhurst Park and I am looking forward to it and I am sure we will have a good attendance there on the day to help push the team forward in our final game before the season gets underway,” the 47-year-old told the club’s official website.

Following Saturday’s contest, De Boer won’t have to wait long for his competitive match on home soil, as Palace are set to play host to newly promoted Huddersfield in their Premier League opener on August 12.
