Swansea are being linked with a surprise £3million swoop for Stoke striker Peter Crouch.
Crouch has spoken of his frustration at being left out of Stoke’s first XI regularly last season and says although he is ready to battle for his place, he does not want another season of sitting on the bench.
First-team opportunities will again be limited, especially if the Potters land Saido Berahino from West Brom, and Swansea could offer him a lifeline at the Liberty Stadium.
The Swans are in desperate need of at least one new striker and are said to be chasing Leicester’s Leonardo Ulloa and Spain international Fernando Llorente.
Stoke boss Mark Hughes has said he would be happy for Crouch to stay, but the Potters are unlikely to turn down an offer of £3million for the 34-year-old.
