Stoke City striker Peter Crouch says he would consider going into coaching after retiring from football.
Crouch is coming towards the latter stage of his career at the age of 35 and many believe next season could be the last, having fallen down the pecking order at the Britannia Stadium.
The former England international only made four Premier League starts last term, scoring no goals, and first team opportunities are unlikely to increase with reports suggesting Southampton’s Graziano Pelle is a target for the Potters.
A role in the media was predicted for Crouch but, after sitting the UEFA B coaching exams at the Welsh FA’s course in Newport recently, he admits a different path could be taken.
“I’ve done different bits and pieces in the media but this is my first taste of coaching so I didn’t know how to take it,” he said. “I’ve really enjoyed it though and it’s opened my eyes to a few things.
“I wasn’t certain whether I wanted to do coaching but this has certainly made me rethink things. I’ve really enjoyed coaching the kids here and you never know.”
