Comolli had a hand in helping Arsenal build their ‘Invincibles’ side at Highbury and turn Arsene Wenger’s side into a European giant.
The Frenchman was the first to spot Gunners legend Thierry Henry, as well as bringing Kolo Toure and Gael Clichy to Arsenal.
However, it could have been much different for Arsenal, with Comolli revealing the north London side missed out on Ronaldo.
The Gunners brought the Real Madrid star to their training ground and he got to meet his idol Henry but a move failed to materialise due to a lack of money.
Speaking on French television channel SFR Sport, Comolli said: “The first time I saw Ronaldo, it was at the Montaigu tournament, he was 15.
