Chelsea are expected to keep hold of striker Diego Costa this summer amid speculation he could rejoin Atletico Madrid.
Spain international Costa joined Chelsea in the summer of 2014 but the forward has been regularly linked with a Vicente Calderon return during his time in London.
It has been suggested that the Stamford Bridge side will sanction Costa’s sale if they can sign a replacement but it seems as if that speculation is wide of the mark.
Chelsea are currently in the USA as part of their pre-season preparations and the Evening Standard report that boss Antonio Conte says there is “no issue with Diego Costa, and no change in his situation” and the striker is in his plans for the season ahead.
Chelsea could still seek to bolster their attacking options this summer regardless as Andre Ayew and Edinson Cavani continue to be linked but it seems as if any new striking additions will be brought in to compliment rather than replace Costa.
