Chelsea striker Diego Costa says he has a soft spot for former club Atletico Madrid, but is happy at Stamford Bridge.
The 27-year-old enjoyed two spells with Atletico, scoring 43 goals from 94 La Liga appearances while winning the league title in the 2013-14 season.
The Spain international joined the Blues in 2014 and has been equally as prolific in front of goal, netting 38 times in the Premier League from 61 outings.
He was linked with a move back to Atletico over the summer but remained at Stamford Bridge and, despite an obvious affection for the Vicente Calderon outfit, he is content to ply his trade in west London.
“I do miss Spain a little, I liked Madrid a lot and have some very happy memories there but I am happy in London now,” he said. “I always follow Atletico and watch what they’re doing – they’re really strong at the moment and I am so happy for them.
“Atletico have been at this level for quite a few years now – battling for every trophy and beating the best sides, they definitely deserve it.”
