Jack Cork was delighted with Swansea’s midweek win at Arsenal but stressed they must back that up by beating Norwich.
The Swans are now six points clear of the bottom three thanks to their win at the Emirates Stadium but Cork feels it will count for very little should Norwich leave the Liberty Stadium with all three points on Saturday.
The midfielder believes his side will be upbeat after downing the Gunners and he feels they have a great chance to pull further away from the drop zone this weekend.
“The Arsenal win is a confidence-booster for the Norwich game,” he told the South Wales Evening Post.
“We knew anything we could get at Arsenal would be a bonus as we knew the importance of getting points in the next three games.
“Getting the victory takes a bit of pressure off and, if we can back it up against Norwich, then we could be nine points clear (of the bottom three), which would be massive.
“Our crowd will be buzzing after the Arsenal result and hopefully we can take the game to Norwich and get a good win.”
He added: “We need to do well this weekend or the win against Arsenal will be worth nothing.
“We need to back it up. If we can get the result against Norwich the gap could go to nine and then we would have a big chance with the following two games.”
