Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri believes Antonio Conte will be a big hit at Chelsea if, as expected, he takes charge at the club.

The Italian Football Federation have announced that Conte will leave his position as national team manager after Euro 2016, and a switch to Stamford Bridge is on the cards.

It has even been suggested that Conte has already started work by identifying the players he would like to bring in over the summer, while he is also learning to speak English.

Allegri, who was also heavily linked with the Chelsea job, refused to shed any light on whether Conte will take charge, but believes he will be a success if he does.

“Italian coaches are very good,” Allegri told a media conference. “Apart from some exceptional figures like Pep Guardiola and Jose Mourinho, we are among the best.

“I don’t know if Conte will go to Chelsea. I’m sure he’ll do well if he does.”
