Antonio Conte has praised his Chelsea side for their 2-1 come-from-behind victory at Watford on Saturday.
Chelsea, who scraped a 2-1 victory at home to West Ham United on the opening weekend, were made to work extremely hard for the same scoreline once again.
Watford went 1-0 ahead in the second half through Etienne Capoue and it looked like the hosts were going to hold out.
However, the Blues managed to pick up an unlikely win when summer arrival Michy Batshuayi and Spain international Diego Costa both scored in the final 10 minutes.
It was a gritty performance from the visitors and Conte, who took charge of the former Premier League champions after Italy’s Euro 2016 campaign, was pleased to see the character of the players.
“I feel good because I saw the right commitment, the right spirit from my team,” he told BBC Sport. “This game wasn’t easy this game because we were 1-0 down. I’m pleased to see the reaction from my players and this win is very important for us as it gives everyone confidence.”
