Steve Clarke has been confirmed as Aston Villa’s new assistant manager.
The Scot will work alongside Roberto Di Matteo, after he was confirmed as Villa boss last week.
Clarke played alongside Di Matteo at Chelsea and has extensive experience in the game.
He worked as a number two with Chelsea, Newcastle, West Ham and Liverpool and has managed West Brom and Reading.
Kevin Bond, formerly of Tottenham, Portsmouth, Newcastle, Southampton, Bournemouth and QPR, is also joining Villa’s staff as first-team coach.
Massimo Battara, meanwhile, will be the recently-relegated club’s goalkeeping coach, while fellow Italian Massimiliano Marchesi is their new fitness coach.
