Andreas Christensen says he has yet to make a decision on his long-term future with Chelsea.
The 20-year-old has impressed at Borussia Monchengladbach since he made the move to the Bundesliga from Chelsea on a two-year loan deal and the Germans made an unsuccessful £14million permanent bid for the defender in the summer.
It is understood the Blues are keen to keep the Dane on their books and they tried to cancel his loan agreement, only for Gladbach to block the move.
A big tug-of-war is now in the offing next summer between the two clubs but Christensen has given no indication which way he is leaning at the moment, claiming he has plenty of time before he needs to make a decision.
“I have not yet decided. I’m not going to do it at the moment,” Christensen said. “When it comes to me, I won’t decide until next summer. For me, both things are possible (staying or leaving).
“I don’t want to be distracted, but fully focused on the difficult tasks with Borussia. And I can’t decide alone. The question is if the clubs can agree a fee.”
