Dutch teenager Tahith Chong is set to be unveiled by Manchester United by the end of the month, our sources have been told.
The talented 16-year-old forward took to his social media accounts a fortnight ago to announce he was leaving Feyenoord for the Red Devils.
Chong’s capture is part of a wider recruitment drive by United who are attempting to breathe new life into their youth ranks, having been overtaken in recent years by their neighbours Manchester City.
Chong, who rejected offers from Ajax and a number of teams in Germany, is expected to fly into Manchester at some point next week so United can complete the last of the formalities.
The appointment of former United midfielder Nicky Butt as the club’s academy chief will see a number of new young arrivals announced in the coming weeks.
Feyenoord are still believed to be upset at losing Chong who has been a part of their youth set-up since the age of 10.
