Potters boss Mark Hughes is armed with a large transfer kitty and is working hard to make new additions to his squad in time for the new Premier League season.

Players such as Juan Mata and Saido Berahino continue to be linked with a move to the club but, as things stand, Stoke have yet to make a new signing this summer.

However, Coates is not reaching for the panic button just yet and believes Stoke will eventually land their transfer targets.

“I’m sure things will start to move in the next few weeks. We’re hoping to bring one or two new players in,” Coates told BBC Radio Stoke.

“It’s always messy with the Euros, as nothing gets done, but these things do take some time as clubs have their own agenda.

“You’re not in control – you just have to be patient and hope things drop for you.”
